As the principal of Greenwood Primary School and Nursery Unit I would like to welcome you to our website. Whether you are already part of our school community or an interested member of the wider community, we hope that you will find our website informative and interesting. Greenwood offers education for children from the ages of three to seven in Nursery and Years 1, 2 and 3 of primary school.
We want every child to be successful; to reach for success from the very first day they join us. We believe our school will nurture all children in their journey towards achieving their full and unique potential. To develop attitudes and dispositions which will be the foundation for life-long learning.
Greenwood Primary has an extensive site offering excellent facilities in buildings and outdoor space. The classrooms are bright and spacious with high levels of equipment and resources to complement the teaching of all areas of the curriculum- computers, listening centres interactive whiteboardsand recently the addition of iPads in every room.
We are fortunate to have the support of parents and friends of the school who strive to make the school grounds pleasing to the eye and a good resource as an outside classroom. In recent years the grounds have been enhanced by the addition of a Willow Dome, log Story Circle, fruit trees, berry canes, log pile for mini beast hunts, planting of indigenous trees, raised beds and a wild life pond area.
Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances, we are unable to host our usual Open Day and individual tours for parents and children. In addition, we are organising video conferences for small groups of parents. These will, hopefully, provide you with an opportunity to find out more about the nursery and school and also have any questions you may have answered.
