In Fane Street Primary School, we aim to provide a high quality education for all, celebrating pupils' achievements; encouraging them to experiment and take risks in their learning, enabling them to become independent, life-long learners. We learn within a caring and respectful environment working with everyone including parents and the wider community.
Services
On behalf of Fane Street Primary School, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your child. At Fane Street Primary School, we aim to provide our pupils with a high standard of education and a wide variety of experiences in a happy, caring environment where the children feel safe, secure and cared for.
We have a very active School Council at Fane Street. The Council meet regularly to discuss matters that are important to the children in the school. They will meet with the Principal to put in requests and provide regular feedback to the other pupils at assembly, visiting classes or by sending an update letter.
We often visit other venues such as Belfast City Hospital, Park Centre and local supermarkets to sing. Our school choir visited Belfast City Hospital to make a Peace Pledge to mark the United Nations' International Day of Peace. The event took place as part of Community Relations and Cultural Awareness Week and was supported by Trade Union colleagues.
Last year we organised a campaign aimed at reducing waste in the areas of electricity and water. We encouraged everyone to recycle as much as possible - paper, plastic cartons, cans, fruit and vegetable leftovers and garden weeds. We are trying to get as many birds/creatures as possible to make their home in the gardens and our Gardening Club have been growing lots of fruits and vegetables with the help of our own Fane Street Scarecrow.
Our digital leaders meet once a month. During our meeting we work together to broaden our skills and knowledge in the use of apps. In the next few sessions we are going to look at the use of Adobe spark; page, post and video. We will be looking at building web pages, creating collages and creating short videos with music.
