As a mum of three I understand the importance of finding good quality childcare and with this in mind I am striving to take some of the hassles and concerns out of choosing a nursery by providing a service which is very much child and family orientated.
As well as being a mum I am a Qualified Childcare / Lead Practitioner, holding a Degree in Early Childhood Practice, HNC in Childcare and Education, SVQ Level 4 Management Qualification and Montessori Teaching Diploma.With over 30 years' experience in the childcare sector I have worked within various settings and have also been a user of childcare for my own children.

Here at Abbey Mill Childcare ltd we have a good understanding of children's lives and their social contexts, basing our teaching around them. Supporting and encouraging personality development, autonomy and creativity are top priorities for us. Developing social interaction and understanding differences in others also play an important role in our work.
Abbey Mill Childcare ltd consists of a team of qualified, experienced and committed staff all of whom have been employed not only for their knowledge and skills but also for their love of the job. We provide a balance of qualified and skilled staff throughout the centre and ensure that we utilise their individual skills and knowledge to provide each child with the best possible love, care and learning.
Here at Abbey Mill Childcare we value our children as individuals and appreciate the need to respond to each child's age and stage of development as well as their personalities. With this in mind, through the flexible registration of our play spaces, we are able to meet the needs of all our children within an appropriate environment which suits each individual.
Family Grouping is the name given in a care setting to groups of mixed ages and is so named as this system more closely resembles that of a family than the more popular choice of grouping children in care by age. An important feature of family grouping is the understanding that everyday routines, experiences and activities are not only possible but can be beneficial for children and more interesting for the staff in a family group setting.
Our Tiny Tots Suite is registered for 20 babies aged 6 weeks to 2.5 years and is designed to offer a cosy yet stimulating environment for our younger babies with a more open play space available for our more mobile babies. Each playroom provides opportunities to develop and learn through the senses whilst maintaining a calm and caring atmosphere in which our youngest wee ones can feel safe and secure.
