Curo Salus
We are registered with the Care Inspectorate and the Registrar of Independent Schools to provide care and education for boys and girls aged from 5 - 18 years. Our service makes specialist provision for children who present challenging and inappropriate behaviours for a variety of reasons either at school, home or in the community.

Our children may have attachment difficulties, trauma issues, attention deficit hyperactive disorder; they may have suffered significant abuse, violence and neglect or may have post traumatic stress disorder or other mental health problems. Most of our children have a history of educational problems resulting from exclusions from school or learning difficulties.
Services
Our Caravan provides the ideal place for our young people to have a break away and still continue to enjoy the high standard of care each house provides. The remote location provides the perfect respite opportunity and is central enough that they can enjoy and participate in the wide range of activities in the surrounding areas.
Great care is taken at each step of the referral and admission process from the initial enquiry to placement. We ensure that children feel involved in the process and to feel that their views are taken account of, similarly if the child's parents are involved in the process, as well as the referring agency.
Our shared vision for Curo Salus and Northview House School is to equip each child with the personal, emotional, social and learning skills to cope in a family placement, and to flourish within the context of a community. We will enable young people to achieve their full potential through the four capacities of "A Curriculum for Excellence" and the SHANARRI well being indicators.
The Estates team led by Tom Hay, Estates Manager, assist us in providing the perfect therapeutic environments for our children and young people by maintaining our houses inside and out. We have created a 'Market Garden' within two of our houses where our children and young people help produce fruit and vegetables for all our houses and the surrounding community.
Our nurturing ethos has the process of attachment as its main focus. The child is helped to understand that when they enter the classroom, the trust of care is transferred from the child care to the education staff. Teaching is provided by fully qualified teachers, supported by teaching assistants.
