Nestled on the edge of the beautiful Peak District, the historic Red Lion Pub and Restaurant boasts a warm and friendly relaxed atmosphere serving a menu that shouts out fresh and local. Dogs are welcome in the bar & terrace area. Unfortunately we only accept dogs in the Red Lion Restaurant upon special requests.
If you're looking for an outstanding wedding venue, The Peak Edge hotel nestled on the edge of Derbyshire's beautiful Peak District National Park, has everything you and your guests require for an unforgettable wedding day. The hotel was built in 2011 to compliment the existing Red Lion Pub & Restaurant which dates back to the 17th Century.
The Orangery Suite is fully equiped with Wi-Fi and climate control; four sets of patio doors overlooking the beautiful countryside allow access to the large private terrace behind. This can be also accessed from the overflow car park perfect for showcasing products. The skylight lets in an abundance of natural light creating a stunning atmosphere for any corporate event.

We booked easily using the telephone service and they could fit us in in 40 minutes which was perfect. When we arrived and were seated they failed to give us any menus or a high chair and after waiting 20 minutes we prompted them again and they were then brought quickly. We had to ask again for our food order to be taken. The drinks order was taken unprompted. We noticed after 45 minutes and still no food arriving (simple sandwiches and chips) that a couple who had arrived after us were now eating. We are unsure how that happened. Warm, homely, boutique style hotel with amazing attention to detail.
Our room was spacious, well decorated and furnished and with the added benefit of beautiful views. The food at the Red Lion was excellent for both dinner and breakfast with good choices at each. Lovely open fire place in one of the open areas near the restaurant.
So many really great things to say about this place but don't believe me, treat yourself, go and have a relaxing stay, you'll thank me later.

Come here often, and every time we enjoy it!
The atmosphere is great, the variety on drinks is good, the setting is warm, welcoming, and swanky?!
The staff are normally great here, and always looks presentable!!
But... when a wedding is on, perhaps assist the staff, with having more on to support as some staff seemed excessively busy.
Overall fantastic, and continues to be improved each time we good!

When we did stay in the hotel, the fire alarm woke us up, and had us out of bed early hours of the morning which ruined our visit but these things happen...
