The Original Pasty House

Ordered an egg mayo baguette. Seems like they just scrapped a spoonful of egg across like spreading butter. The carrot cake was so dry and the edge was so hard i could use it as a brick. Daughter is happy with her pasty though.

Absolutely shocking! Food used to be lovely in store so thought we would order some to be delivered at home for a birthday tea! Food arrived stone cold and horrible, chewy toasty, jacket potatoes cold and rubbery. Could at least microwave the pasties but at nearly £80 for the order we really shouldn't have had to. Weren't answering the phones to discuss situation on the day and have completely ignored tweets! Absolutely revolting and they're not interested in rectifying it. Wouldn't recommend at all!

Most dreadful toasted cheese. Bland the bread was just toast. Staff were not that friendly and professional. Actually it's probably the worst toasted sandwiches we ever had. Let's not get started on the pies they are even worse.Morrisons make nice food.

Took ages to get served luke warm food. Wasn’t terribly busy. Staff were fab but procedures really need to be fine tuned and managed properly. It’s not the first time.

Giant steak pasty which had no steak in it & a coffee that tasted like cheap gutter slop.

Poor customer service, order was ready but wasn't called out loud enough, several unhappy people before me not great. Also just seems to be very young untrained staff as it took 15 mins to make 2 baguettes on a quiet day, have now lost my business

Great variety of food and service. They offer take away or eat in with fast delivery and customer satisfaction. Always a go to for a quick lunch in town.

Tasty Cornish parties, salad and a delicious coffee. They have indoor seating or takeaway. The girls did look k after us really well on our visit.

Was told there would be a 20 minute wait, 40 minutes later still waiting. got back to the car to see part of order missing, went back to the shop, 2nd part of order is stone cold. what a joke!!! Panini made at 1320, order not ready u till 1355.... unreal!!

My burger was extremely undercooked and my friends loaded fries were so cold the cheese hadn’t even melted.
My Biscoff milkshake, however, was very nice and I would order it again.
Lastly, please make sure you are cleaning and sanitizing your baby changing stations in your bathrooms. This is to protect vulnerable infants from diseases and should be done daily. It wasn’t very clean for when I had to change my baby’s nappy.

Over the years we have always enjoyed eating at the Pasty House in Tavistock as well as Plymouth on visits.
Nigel and the team at Pasty House recently catered for our large evening buffet for our wedding at… Tavistock Town Hall.
Throughout the ordering process which we completed online and conversed via email, communication was prompt, precise and clear. Telephone payment was also possible.

A lovely place to stop and enjoy lunch, a snack or a coffee etc. It is good for families, couples and friends. Always clean and welcoming, the mainly young staff are always polite and friendly. If you are ever in Tavistock this is a great place to sit and relax.

Food very tasty as normal ,sat outside in the sun ,would be good to clear tables as seagulls were having a field day

Superb service through COVID-19 with delivery. Thank you! Good local cafe. The pasties IMHO are the best in Tavistock. The hand made take away sandwiches are excellent. The sit down and eat food is good. Superb rocky road and millionaires shortbread.

Very busy place on times. Large seating area at front of shop and more seating inside.
There is table service with a smile. Really quick service and helpful staff.
Tasty food. Lots of choice. Very nice place.
Take away menu available.
Huge range of pasties to choose from.
Toilets are at rear of property.

Not impressed at all! I ordered hot chocolate with cream and no marshmallows (we are vegetarian and marshmallows contain gelatin) and we got marshmallows and so they were sent back. When we got "new ones" low and behold, there were marshmallows embedded in the cream. I thought rather than complain I would "fish them out" and drink it. The drink was luke warm which suggests that rather than make a fresh one, they simply removed the marshmallows from the original drinks. But that spoiled my enjoyment and as time went on I thought I should say something. I spoke to a manager/supervisor

Always very busy I guess, but I prefer pasties made in a traditional style rather than ones that get injected with white gloop, also last year I tried to take a seat in the cafe, with my elderly mother and a woman (I guess the manageress or matriarch) told me very abruptly, rudely and loudly to join a large queue of people who looked like they were queing for pasties from the counter,(they all looked miserable as well) Well sorry for breaking the unwritten rules, It still gets on my pip now to see the triumphant, smug look on her face as we left the shop pastyless. The good news is we got proper

Always very busy. Freshly made pasties, sausage rolls etc, served in the cafe or to take away. Also do nice coffees, milkshakes, hot chocolates and will do babycinos for the children if you ask and describe it. Waiting staff are efficient and helpful and you are never kept waiting very long. Nice big windows for people watching on the street. One of the better cafes of the many in Tavistock.
