About Report

During a weekend trip in 1994, Alan & myself were inspired by a Caf we visited in Ross-on-Wye that served vegetarian food. We spoke on our experience and thought there may be a requirement for similar back home in Newton Abbot. Following our lovely trip, we returned home with our ideas and excitely discussed with family and friends.

Superb cafe. Everything is hot and presented well. Excellent extensive menu with a separate, extensive gluten free menu. Highly recommended.... I'll definitely be back.

What a load of horse droppings, country table my eye. Sat there eating my rather expensive bacon sandwich expecting a beautiful country vista instead we were treated to a derelict row of Newton Abbot shops! Very annoyed.

Great restaurant for a quick lunch, has a bunch of vegan options including a full vegan fry up which is always good! Also has plenty of gluten free options, and sometimes has gluten free or vegan cakes! I come here every time I'm in town!

My partner and I have been twice in 2 weeks now, and each time it is amazing - brilliant service, brilliant food, and all the people there are smiley. The atmosphere is always lovely.

Homemade cakes and scones. Freshly made sandwiches and meals. All very good and tasty. Excellent coffee too. Dog friendly, dogs can go in the back of the café. If cleaning is in progressed they are allowed in the front room. Free dog biscuits and water available.

If you live in, near or around Newton Abbot, I would highly recommend the Country table cafe in Newton Abbot. Up until now, I have always doubted it, but after having a ploughman's, I have changed my mind. For just over £8, that is with a latte that is really good value.
Highly recommend. It deserves 100 stars.
