Very nearly messed up our lunch. Had booked and confirmed a table for 7 but when we turned up they had just reserved two tables next to each other. Was told they were very busy - it wasn’t and I Could see the booking sheet. Managed to squeeze onto a larger unreserved table which would have been better in the first place, which saved the day. Food very average and the fish and chips was 90% batter. Nervous staff which wasn’t their fault, they had to deal with low stock as so many things were out of stock, including napkins! Dirty glasses and cutlery. Really disappointed as it could have been

Called in for a Sunday roast with two friends and can honestly say that I've had far better schools dinners, absolutely terrible.

A very nice brasserie inside a hotel at the bottom of Haytor. Not busy on a Tuesday about 1pm. Dog friendly indoors and outdoors.
Plenty of parking and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful food. Great service despite being very short staffed. Gail and the chef that brought our food to are table worked incredibly hard to make sure we were looked after.

Stopped by for a pint and cream tea. Top notch cream tea. Lovely pub attached to the hotel with plenty of big tables for groups - think ours was an old chemistry class room table.. Get the feeling the food would be good here, although can't vouch for it.

Really lovely meal here with a nice atmosphere. They have a good variety on their menu. They appeared to have very minimal staff though so the waiter appeared to be rushing around between tables and slightly abrupt due to being busy I guess. I also ordered a salad and somehow ended up with a sandwich, it was very tasty though. Would still recommend to eat here and would visit again.

Nice food. Plenty of tables. The staff were all polite and courteous. Would recommend for a fancy dinner or a meal after being in the wilderness. They have room for both.

Great that it is dog friendly also... a big bonus for us.
