Set on the sunny side of a wooded valley, South Coombe, with its 17th century farmhouse, is nestled in fifteen acres of our own orchards, lawns & meadows for you to roam. There's a meadow for ball games, a children's playground in the orchard and a gentle stream to sit beside for impromptu picnics.

Services
We offer short breaks (minimum stay 3 nights) commencing on any day of the week, except during school summer holidays. We can accommodate up to 24 guests plus infants in our luxury cottages. If you have any special requirements or just want to find out more about our facilities, please contact us and we will do everything we can to help you.
Our self-catering holiday cottages are contemporary renovations of former barns, dating back to the eighteenth century. All of the cottages have been thoughtfully equipped and furnished to a very high, modern standard, with excellent facilities and Wi-Fi throughout. All cottages have outside seating areas which are ideal for barbecues, and they also all boast stunning countryside views.
This charming and characterful cottage, with its original walls and oak beams, has been converted from the old hayloft. It has been further renovated to provide a new bathroom, complete with over-bath shower, a fully fitted modern kitchen area and full central heating. Jonquil Self Catering Holiday Cottage is a perfect tranquil retreat for a romantic break at any time of year.
Orchard Cottage - our premier cottage - is a beautifully restored former cart-house, originally constructed from cob and now tastefully modernised to offer luxury contemporary living. All bedrooms (1 king, 1 super-king/twin and one twin) are downstairs, together with a luxury en-suite shower room to the king room and a fully fitted family bathroom serving the other two rooms.
We are excited to announce that we have a brand new, bespoke shepherds hut for romantic short breaks at beautiful South Coombe! Designed for 2 adults, our 'Merino' Shepherds hut is the last word in luxury, with its own en-suite shower room and toilet, high end Bosch appliances and a smart TV.
There's also a beautiful glass roof panel above the bed for star gazing, a private garden and there's a new private hot tub - perfect to relax in after a long walk or day out!Guests will be able to enjoy our 15 beautiful acres of countryside here, together with our five star facilities such as our indoor heated pool and sauna.

This place is fantastic. If you like peace and quiet, and simply want to kick back and chill out for a while. The beautiful village of Winkleigh is close by. Each cottage has a hot tub, we stayed in the Shepherds Hut with its woodburner and drop down bed, best night's sleep I've had in a long time. Loved it!

We’ve just got back from a 2 night stay at the Merino Shepherds Hut and all I can say is...Wow!! The attention to detail is amazing and everything has been well thought of, from the scones on arrival to the beautiful fresh pastries the following morning. A lovely quiet spot with amazing views, especially whilst relaxing in the hot tub in the evening. Nothing was too much for Simon, very helpful and very friendly. Thank you to Simon and Clare for a lovely stay. We’ll definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at South Coombe Farm. The cottage was beautifully done up and the private garden with views over the Devon countryside was a really lovely place to eat our meals. Our daughter really enjoyed use of the pool, toddler room and all the animals. The fresh eggs, bread and pastries in the morning were a real treat!
The cottage is perfectly located to explore both North and South Devon.
We will definitely be back!

The location of this hut is placed perfectly to allow you to take in the beautiful scenery of the countryside. The sheep and alpacas make great neighbours, and are quite soothing to watch especially from the hot tub. The sheltered area with bbq is lovely too and a fire pit that means you can sit out in the evening till late. The hut it self was just adorable with the greatest attention to detail. Kitchen is small so don't plan to cook elaborate meals as there is a 2 ring hob, no microwave or oven.

We had an amazing Stay! The location and premises are beautiful. We stayed in the shepherds hut which was simply amazing. We loved the log burner, it kept us warm and contributed to the cozy feel of the hut. We woke up to a gorgeous view every morning; on our first morning we were greeted with fresh pastries which was great :) couldn’t say enough good things about this place, definitely want to return soon. Thanks to Simon and Clare x

We stayed here about 9 months ago in the Jonquil cottage. Loved it as it was very peaceful. We were surrounded by sheep and beautiful scenery. fantastic hosts. Beautiful cream tea, home made bread and croissants . We would recommend everyone to come here! Not a far walk down to the local pub and we could bring our pet dogs. Can't wait to come back here again! Lovely place
