Whitegate Pre-school Nursery is owned and managed by Mrs Jo Hignett and with her team of experienced staff pride themselves on providing a secure, warm, friendly and stimulating environment for all children to blossom. All staff are DBS checked before their employment commences and all hold relevant childcare qualifications.
All members of staff hold a Paediatric first aid qualification and have undergone safeguard training. We understand that being cared for in a pre-school is very different from being cared for in a home environment. In order to make this transition as smooth as possible for the child and the parents, we have a key person system in place.

Services
At Whitegate Pre-School, children learn through a carefully structured balance of free play and adult initiated/led play. Through topics and themes we plan broad and balanced experiences based on the learning objectives in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
We plan a wide range of stimulating and exciting activities which are carefully tailored to meet your child's interests, strengths and needs and are designed to ensure that all children make progress to the best of their abilities. We recognise the importance of free play, where the children are given the time and space to pursue what interests them most, with staff on hand to help extend the play and introduce new concepts and language.

There are seven areas of learning and development that must shape educational programmes in early years settings. All areas of learning and development are important and inter-connected. Three areas are particularly important for building a foundation for igniting children's curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, forming relationships and thriving.
