We are an outstanding nursery situated in the tranquil surroundings of Highfield Park in St Albans. Our 'Babybird' rooms cater for babies from three months to two years, whilst the 'Ladybird' rooms take children up to five. All rooms provide a homely, caring and stimulating environment combined with educational, fun and interactive sessions to spark your child's curiosity and promote an eagerness to learn.
Planned activities, both indoors and outdoors, combining high quality education with care. High quality learning in the morning followed by forest school activities in the afternoon.

Services
Ladybirds Nursery is led and managed by two experienced early years teachers who inspire your child to 'spread their wings and fly'. Our happy, caring atmosphere within Ladybirds ensures that children thrive emotionally and intellectually. Like you, we treasure these vitally important early years and work with parents to lay firm foundations for the future.
The protection of your child is Ladybirds first priority. We have an environment in which children are safe from abuse. Any suspicion of abuse is promptly and appropriately responded to. We comply with the procedures approved by the Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children's Board (HSCB). Millie's Mark is the gold standard in paediatric first aid for childcare providers.
In line with its statutory obligations Ladybirds Nursery delivers the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS). It is based on seven subject areas that combine together to make up the skills, knowledge and experiences that babies and children acquire as they grow, learn and develop. The prime areas are Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development and Communication and Language.
Bernadette and Julie worked together as Deputy Head and Foundation Stage Co-ordinator at a local Hertfordshire school. During maternity leave in 2002 they set up Ladybirds Nursery from scratch in the heart of the then newly established Highfield Park. They have eight children between them, including twins (six boys and two girls).
All fees must be paid a month in advance and received between the 1st and 7th of the month. The Government provides financial support for all families to access early years education. This entitlement is deducted directly from your fees. Children are required to take up the full 15 hours subject to availability.
