We are a private, independent pre-school and nursery which provides a safe, stimulating and caring environment for children from 2 to 5 years. We pride ourselves in helping children to develop socially, physically and academically. Based in St Saviour's church hall, Sandpit Lane, St Albans, the setting has been running for many years and is owned and managed by Tina Alder and Claire Toms.

At St Saviour's we support our children in becoming happy, inquisitive and successful learners through a balanced curriculum of child-led activities, free choice and adult led group learning. We provide a varied range of activities that stimulate the children's imaginations and meet their needs.
We cover the 7 different areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which means we're able to ensure that each child engages in all areas of learning, even those they may find challenging.This is the curriculum for children aged between 0 and 5 years. The EYFS is organised into 7 areas of learning with a strong emphasis on active learning, play, exploration and thinking critically.

The day begins with free play in the main hall where the children can choose from carefully selected activities that will support their general development in all areas of the EYFS such as the book area, sand play, malleable materials, construction, home corner or craft. They are also able to have a healthy snack and water or milk at this time.
Our fees are currently 21.00 per three-hour session. Lunch club is available up to 3 mornings per week from 12.15pm to 1pm for children aged 3+ at 5 per session. We require payment for all sessions booked and cannot make allowances for short illnesses or holidays as our costs still have to be met. We require half a term's notice, or payment in lieu, to terminate a place or reduce the number of sessions per week.
