Harmony Neighbourhood Nursery
We base our programme on the principle of learning through play in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance. We plan and provide meaningful and relevant activities for children of both genders. We aim to nurture children's positive self-image through valuing their opinions; encouraging them to think independently, questioning and developing their own view points.

Children are provided with ample opportunities to build and apply their skills in more practical contexts.
Services
Harmony Nursery was established in 2001 in partnership with the Council and the voluntary sector as a social enterprise, not for profit, day nursery. The aim is to provide quality, affordable childcare for children and their families who are in employment or are working towards qualifications that will lead to employment.
The committee consists of number of volunteers who bring a wealth of knowledge, experiences, skills and expertise which contributes to the smooth running of the nursery. Members of the management committee volunteer their time and attend meetings at least 6 times a year.

Committee members are always welcome to visit the nursery outside of the meetings and to assist with fundraising, attending outings and other activities identified by the manager. The committee has a Chairperson, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary plus an additional 8 members of whom, a maximum of 3, are parent representatives.
This provision is outstanding. Staff have excellent partnerships with others to support children's learning, such as parents, local schools and children's centres. Staff receive excellent levels of support. The manager gives highly effective supervision. She carries out regular comprehensive appraisals that precisely identify staff training and support needs.

Children in Jupiter have the opportunity to move freely to the dedicated open outdoor play area (free flow). This enables us to support small group work, extend children's learning offering greater exposure to the outdoor environment throughout the day. One classroom has a focus on quiet activities such as book area, mark making, literacy, puzzles, cognitive and hand eye coordination activities.

My son spent 3 years here. I find it a very good nursery. Coming from a minority group myself, I didn’t observe any discrimination as another review suggested.

I feel like this nursery discriminates agains some groups of people and My child is one of them, I put my child on the list since 2015 I never get a call, and when I go and ask personally why it is taking years for my son to get a chance, the manger tells me with disgust sorry dear but we are full, I have sent the local fund to ask them to put my younger son on the list for the fourth time they come back with the same answer I got, that the nursery can not accommodate my child because they are full, but funny enough I have seen new children, many of them because I actually live quiet close to the

My daughter did work experience here and found the staff to be warm and welcoming she couldn't stand the noise level. It's very community cohesion spirited and as such goes the extra mile to look after its clients and families. It has good !Inks with other projects in the estate and is always open to suggestions on how to improve its service.
