Services
Small Talk is a small setting of a maximum of 30 children at any one time. We believe that this benefits the children by receiving individual personal care, encouraging the same traditions and values as they would have at home. This allows your child to experience normal aspects of life incorporating age appropriate curriculum activities, in a stimulating environment surrounded by other children.
Our team of staff are fully dedicated to your child/children. With their experience and professionalism they create an environment where children's individual needs are met and where children are given the opportunity to flourish and achieve. We believe our home from home ethos positively influences the attachment between staff and children, supporting their emotional development.
Learning through play is a vital part of a child's development. All of our activities are play based and supported by staff interaction. Through this method our practitioners are able to monitor a child's progress and to establish how to support the child's further learning. Through observing and assessing, individual needs are met and children can make progress through the 'Development Matters' section of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
We offer the highest standard of pre-school care and education, where children are provided with a safe, supportive, stimulating and fun environment so that they are able to explore and discover the world and fulfill their potential.
We recognise that children learn best where they have plenty of opportunities to enjoy themselves and therefore all our pre-school children are encouraged to develop as learners by planning, questioning and reflecting.There is a clearly defined learning outcome to our pre-school activities whereby there is a balance of free-flow and adult-led activities.

At Small Talk we have formed a welcoming environment for all families, enabling children to participate within the setting with ease and confidence. We believe parents and the setting are a partnership, providing children with security and assurance. We hold termly parents evening, where you are able to meet with your child's key person for an update of your child's progression and next steps.

I highly recommend Small Talk Preschool. Our children were with another preschool in the local area and were unsettled. From the movement we visited to now the kids are happy, thriving and are happy to go to preschool.
The staff are friendly and have also supported myself as a parent.
