Services
We are a community preschool celebrating over 50 years, initially started by a group of parents who decided to help each other with child care. The community spirit lives on and now our preschool is run by an elected committee. The goal is to provide a safe and secure environment to support and encourage children's development in our community.
The Preschool is a 'Hidden Gem' tucked away within Thorngate Halls and has been based here since it was formed by a group of Parents back in the 1960's. We are a Registered Charity no. 1152783 and over the years, whilst the Preschool has evolved and moved with the times, we still very much have the community spirit, and are proud to say that we have had children attending the preschool whose parents came here when they were small.
Tapestry is an online journal recording all the learning and fun of children's early years education. We use Tapestry to enhance and report on the progression of early years learning for teachers and parents. Share your child's achievements with us by updating your child's Tapestry journal or tell your child's key person.
The Staff at Alverstoke Preschool can see all of the Children's learning journal's. You can put in photos of things they have made at home or activities they have done, even short video's can become part of the journal. Your can write about something they have said or noticed, milestones or achievements.

My daughter of 3 currently attends the pre-School and I have nothing but good things to say about all aspects of the school. The setting is nice and secure and well laid out, the staff are all wonderful and so passionate about the work they do and are very caring and attentive towards the children they work with. My daughter has really grown in… confidence since attending and has built such a bond with her key worker. I would thoroughly recommend the pre school to anyone,!I cannot rate it enough. My son attended Alverstoke Preschool for one and a half years, and it was a brilliant experience for him! The staff put so much enthusiasm into the activities - he would come home excited to tell us everything he'd been up to there. He can be a little 'difficult' at times, but his key-worker was really skilled at managing his behaviour within the… boundaries of a warm and respectful relationship. She took the time to really get to know his interests, and provided him with a range of engaging activities to stretch his learning. Our family are vegan, and I was really impressed by the way that

My son (now 6) attended. this preschool, they were fantastic with him and really helped to build a strong foundation for his early learning when he went to school he was a young starter at school and I am forever grateful for the support and care given to my littlin who is now in year 2 and thrithing.
my daughter now attends and after a wobbly… start she settled into preschool life and is coming on leaps and bounds also!

My 3 year old son archie has not long been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes he is insulin-dependent...... we can't thank the staff enough with what they have done to accommodate archie and his diagnosis all the… staff are absolutely brilliant he loves going to nursery and with there help he can do once again so thank you very much.. Archie has done so well it's not easy for a 3 year old to have this condition and with the help of alverstoke pre-schools teachers he he is once the boy we all no and love again so thank you again
