We are the UK's largest single provider of education services for babies and preschool children with hearing loss. We provide Ofsted 'Outstanding' nursery services at our Family Centre in Hampshire and online support through our innovative Let's Listen and Talk programme. We provide a wide range of services to offer deaf children the best possible start in life from birth to five years.
Through all of our services we aim to help young children with hearing loss learn to listen and talk. We work with Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust to provide children's hearing screening and testing services. Services
We facilitate early diagnosis for babies and preschool children with all degrees of deafness and provide comprehensive educational and support services for them and their families. By doing so we enable these children to develop their listening and spoken language skills, as well as build their self-esteem and give parents the confidence and knowledge to make informed decisions on behalf of their child.
We have developed our own unique Multi-Sensory Oral Approach to support the development of listening and spoken language skills in children with hearing loss. This approach encourages the development of speech, language and listening by using all of the child's senses, in a natural, fun, child centred environment.
The Elizabeth Foundation was set up in 1981 by parents Shirley and David Metherell MBEs, whose daughter, Elizabeth, was diagnosed as profoundly deaf when she was 22 months old. In response to a lack of local support for Elizabeth, and inspired by the John Tracy Center in Los Angeles, Shirley and David established and developed The Elizabeth Foundation to support other parents of newly diagnosed children with hearing loss.

I've had the privilege to take my daughter here for the last four years and the help, support and understanding of every single member of staff has just been incredible.
You can tell they love what they do and my daughter instantly lit up when I tell her her to guess what day it is today... "Tuesday!!"
If you own a company yourself, and you do any kind of charitable work, or you like to donate to charity, please consider The Elizabeth Foundation as one you should work with as they rely on charity. As far as I understand they receive no government funding which in terms of supporting children

Very friendly and lovely place with free car park. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There are toys for children to play with before their appointments. Appointment s are done in time and if cancelled you are notified in good time. My son went for a hearing test and the tests are very child friendly, they don't unsettle a child in any way.
