This is not your usual type of museum and it certainly isn't a large grey building with all the exhibits neatly arranged on shelf after shelf in glass cabinets - ask any of our visitors! There is a do-it-yourself NAAFI on-site for hot & cold drinks, crisps etc with comfortable seating and WW2 newspapers to read.
Well-behaved dogs (on a lead) are welcome. Airfield Tours on Thursday afternoons at 2 pm (July to the end of September ONLY) Tours take place at 2pm every Thursday. They are in our crew bus Marlene - Booking essential here. Group and school visits can be arranged by appointment. We should inform you that next to us there is another, smaller, museum.

They are in our crew bus Marlene - Booking essential here. Group and school visits can be arranged by appointment. The bus tours SHOULD NOT BE CONFUSED WITH THE MUSEUM ITSELF WHICH IS OPEN EVERYDAY until the end of October. Airfield Tours on the bus last about 2 hours and operate on Thursday afternoons at 2pm.
CAWM Publishing now has available an unusual upside-down book - one with two Front Covers! Viewed from one end it provides details of the various squadrons stationed at RAF Davidstow Moor during WW2 and descriptions (often humorous) of some of their operations.
But turn the book over to view from the other end and there is a wealth of information on how the museum started, details of the various buildings and their contents, airfield tours, group visits to the museum and numerous other functions and activities. The two halves of the book have a combined total of 96 pages (48 pages for each part) and include over 75 photographs (of which the majority are in colour) and 7 maps.

Well laid out exhibition. If you are ex forces or have an interest in military memorabilia it is fascinating. All branches of the armed forces have a display. Steve and his wife have dedicated themselves to this project and what they have achieved is amazing. Go and visit and support these guys, you will be amazed what hard work and comradeship has achieved.

As you drive in the staff are exuberant and enthusiastic.
We got a salute from the member of staff their and once we parked up. We were chatting to him and were given additional information and there is quite a lot to see here in different hangers and outside areas.
The only downside was the cafe was not open due to covid-19 and only crisps and ☕ so possibly don't go there when you're feeling hungry!
Well worth a visit when in the area and discover more about the airfield and it's role in World War II.

Bargain price of £6 per adult, nice collection of lots of different memorabilia. In my opinion its more suitable for adults rather than children. There are lots of things to read through with some interesting stories. There isnt a cafe but you can buy a cold drink and a couple of snacks if you need to. All in all a great little place to visit.
