Great village pub with plenty of parking.
Food was very good and good sized portions.
Deserts were amazing, as was the coffee.
Local real ales available, alongside the normal pub drinks selection.
Nice friendly staff.
Close to Stansted Airport if you need to wait for an arrival and you need food π

Situated close to Stansted Airport, this old country pub bears witness to the war years and its use by pilots based at the then airfield. Several pictures of these young men and local incidents adorn the walls.
The menu is a good mix of what turned out to be tasty food; my friends reported enthusiastically on the Sunday roasts while I was quite happy with my shepherds pie.
Definitely worth a visit.

Visited Jun2021 after a 10 mile walk. Sat outside in the evening sun, gently serenaded by the sounds of Stansted Airport trying to convince the world that it was busy.
This is a Greene King pub, so the quality is controlled, you know what you are going to get. And sure enough, we got a friendly welcome, good service, well-kept beer and good, middle-of-the-road pub grub.
The pub is kitted out for families. In these slightly fake lockdown times, the pub has provided a large marquee for sheltered outside dining, filled with dozens of standard pub benches. There are also tables and chairs on a veranda
