We are a family run independent pub in the heart of the Kent Downs. Overlooking the picturesque village green of Hodsoll Street and a popular stop for walkers, The Green Man is a quintessentially English country pub offering a great selection of guest ales alongside the traditional. Whether you are looking to escape the city for a taste of the countryside or passing by on your way home from work, we always make you welcome at The Green Man.

Our aim is simple: to provide a warm, friendly environment to enjoy really good food and drinks at the right price. We like to source our meat, fish and ingredients locally and use seasonal produce where possible. The menu features popular classics, interesting vegetarian options and chef's special dishes.

Food was ok, but nearly £10 for a starter that had 4 prawns (Peeled)and 4 small very thin slices of chorizo and a couple of micro leaves and two very small rolls seemed too expensive

We went on a lovely dog walk to get to the pub. They were very accommodating and made sure we had a table for some drinks. We didn't stop long as the table was reserved. But was nice to be out again and walk to the pub with the dog. There is a rail in the car park for horse riders to tie their horse up and have a drink too 👌

Have visited several times in the past and recently ,like to support and individual pub not a chain. Menu has plenty of choice and I opted for the smoked haddock dish, think only fish choice apart from fish and chips. Unfortunately it was a rather small dry portion and not particularly well presented with very little pancetta. Other meals looked more appealing and we'll presented. Drinks a reasonable price as was coffee overall okay and would come again but would hope possibly salmon back on menu and wouldn't choose dish again.

Brilliant. Another gem of a classic pub in the heart of Kent. Staff are down to earth, the atmosphere is relaxed and social. The food is top draw for a pub setting. Ingredients are locally sourced; the dishes on the menu are up to date twists on the traditional. The salmon main is one of the most exciting meals I’ve eaten this year. It was so packed with ingredients, it would do well as a just a vegetarian dish.
Food was served promptly and piping hot, the price point is spot on. When the weather is good, given the ample parking and outdoor seating area this is a great place to relax and enjoy

Good country pub with plenty of seating and a friendly atmosphere, particularly when busy.
Decent food menu, currently with a special; steak deal for 2 with a bottle of wine for 30 quid. Excellent value. Well worth a diversion from the A227.

Beautiful pub with kind, friendly staff. Roast dinner lacked a little flavor to my taste but otherwise was superb. Very relaxing pub garden with no traffic. A picturesque, peaceful and green spot perfect for families. Good range of beers and ciders on tap and not too expensive. Large carpark. One of our party had special dietary requirements and they very kindly improvised a custom dish just for her needs.

Wow, a most stunning location, travelled from Essex, due to great reviews, , very homely ambience, great menu, gr8 choice of beers, attentive staff, picturesque location close to Seven oaks just off the Gravesend road, lovely outside garden to the rear of the premises, cosy interior, with lots going on throughout the week, I can see why the search for " great Gastro pubs" in Kent, repeatedly mentioned this establishment, has some superb recommendations, if the weather is good try this place - and eat outside, , it's brilliant., will go back at some stage.

Change of ownership - not what it was. I have been coming here for years and we came here last night to find the place has been sold the previous owner the Haywood family. It has been taken over by new owners and while the staff were very friendly there are a lot of differences. Firstly the multiple mini blackboard menu concept has gone and they offer a paper and limited menu. David Haywood the previous chef no longer works there and he was behind the previous fantastic and award winning food. We ordered various meals (group of 5) and the food was decisively average and what I would call normal

Just got back from another excellent meal at The Green Man. We have been customers for some years now.. The new owners may have made a few changes but we are so pleased that they and all the staff are so friendly. Service is excellent. We take my mum of 96 and they always help adapt food to suit. They also welcome our spaniel. All in all my favourite pub in Kent!

Love this pub. It's tucked away off of Wrotham Road and very much a locals country pub hangout. Have to confess I'm usually one of the only people under 60years old whenever I got, but I actually really like the place.

The food is great. Go for the Sunday roast - you can't go wrong. And there scampi/salad/chips is a firm favourite. Even the sandwiches are homemade bread and delicious. Take your mother, or a group of friends for Sunday lunch - they'll love it.

Still keeps the local pub theme into the evening. Not the most rocking place in the world, but nice if you want to
