Services
The death of a loved one is always difficult, whether it is expected after a long illness, or is a sudden shock. Sometimes the paperwork required in such situations can seem daunting. We are here to help you with the whole process. Relatives must contact the Doctor who attended the deceased during their last illness.
Whether purchasing a new grave in a churchyard or Council Cemetery fees will be incurred. These may be considerably more if the deceased or next of kin live out of the area. The funeral director will advise the family as to the nearest available cemetery and assist with the necessary paperwork. If a grave is to be re-opened in a council-owned cemetery, we will need a grave deed which is usually held by relatives.
We are extremely proud of our fleet, we have modern Volvo Hearse and Limousines. The Limousines will carry six mourners, (seven if one person sits in the front with the driver). We also offer more personalised modes of transport including a Horse drawn Carriage, Motorcycle hearse, Horse and dray, white cars, pink limousines.
Many families like to prepare an Obituary Notice to go into the local paper, advising family and friends of the details of the funeral. Families can either place this themselves, or if you prefer our staff would be happy to assist with the wording and presentation, and can forward the notice to the relevant paper for you.
Many people who have suffered bereavement find comfort spending time with the deceased. Relatives and friends may wish to pay their respects before the funeral. Our serene tranquil private chapel of rest are available during normal office hours or by appointment at weekends and evenings You may wish the deceased to come home prior to the funeral for family and friends to pay their respects.
