In line with the current centre's policies, measures are in place to ensure the safety of our visitors and volunteers. West Kirby Museum houses a collection of stones and other items which tell the story of St. Bridget's Church and the local village over the past 1000 years.
The collection is housed within St Bridget's Centre in West Kirby. In 2013, the museum was fully refurbished and expanded to increase space for the displays and add interpretation. Visit us for free and learn about everything from Vikings to Victorians, from the Prehistoric to the Present Day.

Services
This museum was founded in 1892 in memory of Charles Dawson Brown, who was a Churchwarden at St Bridget's Church. After his death a Public Subscription was raised to provide a memorial in his memory. The Hearse House, adjacent to the old school room, was altered to become the Charles Dawson Brown Museum.
All the artefacts at the West Kirby Museum come from St Bridget's Church or associated local sites, and help to tell the story of its development. Fragments of stones found in the grounds have helped to date the five different periods of building. Only a small amount of archaeology represents the 1st Church, which was built around AD 900.
We are in constant need of funds to keep the Museum running. Any donation, however small, is gratefully received and will allow us to maintain the collection and keep this wonderful local history accessible to the public. With the museum having lain neglected for over a century, very few locals are aware of its existence.
