Services
At the Lantern Primary School we value the good mental health and well-being of our pupils, staff, parents/carers and stakeholders. We aim to use strategies that actively promote good mental health and have a range of systems in place to support this. We are delighted to confirm that The Lantern School have been awarded the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools 'School Mental Health Award' - Silver Status.
We recognise that the children are part of many different and diverse communities and try to celebrate this in school. We also like to concentrate on 8 communities which every child in the school belongs to. These 8 communities are reflected on the 8 sides of the Octagon Tower on which our Lantern symbol is based.
If you wish to apply for a place at The Lantern Community Primary School you must first contact the Cambridgeshire County Council Admissions Team on 0345 045 1370. The Admissions Team deal with all aspects of the admissions process. Cambridgeshire operates a catchment area for each Local Authority and Voluntary Controlled School although parents/carers do have the right to express a preference for an alternative school.
We aim to prevent disabled pupils in our school being placed at a substantial disadvantage. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that people with a disability are not treated differently without lawful justification. We will make reasonable adjustments for disabled pupils and we will know we have succeeded when disabled pupils are participating fully in school life.
The Lantern Primary School is committed to meeting the General Equality Duty under the Equality Act 2010. Eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation and any other conduct that is prohibited by the Equality Act 2010. Please see the attached document 'Our Equality Objectives' below and CMAT Equality Policy.
