Fordham C Of E Primary School
We are extremely proud to share with you the wonderful learning and wider opportunities at Fordham CE Primary School! Please take your time to have a look around the site, particularly our weekly newsletters that will keep you informed of what we do day-to-day. We are a vibrant school which has a caring, family atmosphere with excellent standards of education.

The children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that they are happy, inquisitive and supported in a stimulating yet calm environment where all can thrive. We ensure that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future. The school is committed to maximising the life chances of every child in our care from an intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual perspective.

The area of history studied forms the basis of a class' topic and, wherever possible, closely aligns with a class' main text. We are in the process of changing our History curriculum to ensure that it is taught chronologically from Key Stage 2. We teach children about the history of Britain and the wider world whilst developing their historical skills (National Curriculum 2014).
We are committed to ensuring a balanced curriculum. Our staff work very hard to ensure that this is the case and we have achieved many awards in recognition of this. Staff and children are currently working towards the Green Tree Silver Award, Stars Silver Award, School Games Gold Award and achievement of the Rainbow Flag.
We are a voluntary controlled Church of England school, belonging to the Diocese of Ely. This means that we have close links with our local church as well as being part of the local and wider community. Each day children and staff partake in acts of Collective Worship that are Christian in character.
This year we have based our collective worship using material from The Diocese of Ely which consists of a theme, relevant Bible reading, a message, activity and prayers. The value in an individual act of worship is determined by the Bible text studied that week.

Each half term will contain acts of worship on all 6 new Christian values (Hope, Community, Dignity, Wisdom, Joy and Peace) and links closely with our school values: FLOURISH, FAITH and FRIENDSHIP.Millions of adults and children in churches and schools right across the world pray a prayer as part of their worship that Jesus himself taught his followers.
Following a Collective Worship on Creation, the School Council asked to hold an Environment Week where they could organise a range of activities to care for our planet. This took place in the Autumn Term 2019 with the new school council taking on the planning for the week. Activities ranged from creating bug hotels and recycling their packed lunch waste to holding a no-paper day.
