At Crownfield Infant and Nursery School, we have designed our History curriculum to ensure we help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of not only our past, but that of the wider world. Within our lessons, we aim to enable children to ask insightful questions, think critically, analyse evidence and develop their own perspectives.
Stimulates curiosity, interest and awareness of the past and how it is different from the present. Support each individuals understanding of what happened in the past, and how it can affect our future. Establishes a sense of chronology, within and beyond living memory; about change, cause and consequence.

I can tell you so many things that I think are wonderful about our school, but would encourage you to make a visit and see for yourself! I hope that if you are a new parent and considering sending your child to our school, this website will give you an insight into our work and values.
For our existing parents, I do hope this website will prove a useful way in keeping you up-to-date with what is happening in school and will provide information and advice, continually strengthening our very important home/school Partnership. To educate children to become independent, lifelong learners and contributing citizens in a rapidly changing, challenging, multi-cultural world.

Regular and punctual attendance is important for pupils as it gives them the best chance to make the most of the opportunities available at the school. If your child is unwell you should contact the school office on the first day of absence, either by telephone or in person. When your child returns to school they should bring with them a written note, signed by their parent/carer, for each period of absence.
This is a link to the RM easi maths website that children are encouraged to do as part of homework. Teachers do monitor the time each child has been using it and can see the progress each chid has made. It is recommended that children and adults should visit a dentist for regular examinations and teeth cleanings at least twice a year, usually between 6 and 12 months.
At the heart of everything we do to make our school such a success is the community and the people who work to make this: children, staff, parents and governors. We have a wonderful team of staff, who are committed to the vision, success and progress of the school. All of our Learning Support Assistants receive a high level of ongoing training and support and work as part of a team.
Ofcom research in 2016 showed that almost 40% of 3-4 year olds and two thirds of 5-7 year olds go online. We know that children need support in these environments, to get the best out of using the internet, and there are real advantages in making sure that children are supported in their internet use right from the start.
