Hurley Pre-School is a voluntary community group dedicated to providing quality, affordable childcare and education in Kennington for children aged 2-5 years. The preschool / nursery is registered with OFSTED Reg. No. 144055), a registered charity (Charity No. 1000974) and a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance.
The pre-school is open 50 weeks per year. There are four days per year allocated for staff training when the nursery will be closed. The pre-school and nursery is registered for 36 children per session (3hrs) for children from 2-5 years of age. The pre-school has a dedicated area for the under 3's and provides them with spacious surroundings to enable them to move about freely and develop their physical skills.

At Hurley Pre-School, Kennington, our dedicated staff provide quality, affordable childcare and education to children aged 2-5 year through a wide range of activities enabling them to develop and learn through play. We follow the Early Years Foundation stage, and work in partnership with parents/carers to ensure that the children are prepared for their future as best as possible.
All staff at Hurley Pre-School are DBS and referenced-checked and a have a variety of qualifications, which are all relevant to childcare including, NVQ Level in Childcare and Education, Learning an Development, Qualified Childminders. BTEC Diploma in Childcare and Education. Foundation Degree in Early Years Education and Childcare.
It is important to recognise that parents/carers play a fundamental role in a child's development and this should be acknowledged as the basis for a partnership between the setting and child's parents/carers. The staff team should be committed to working in partnership with parents and carers to provide high quality, safe and stimulating care, learning and play opportunities for children.
At Hurley Pre-School, children have the opportunity to play with sand, water and paint. We have a Home Corner, Book Corner, Ball Pond / Pit and a Soft Play area (including a Bouncy Castle), Sensory and Relaxation Room, and several tablets. Children can construct, be creative and lots more. We have an all-weather outside play area that encourages children to expree themselves and develop a variet of skills with a number or resources.
Children with special additional needs (issues for consideration would be severity, resources i.e. space and staff ratio's). Cultural diversity of the group. This aims to reflect the diversity in the local community. We try to match children from the same culture so to support their parents and extend friendships.
