Blepharitis is a term describing inflammation of the eyelids and is very common. It is often a chronic condition a bit like having dandruff, which is difficult to cure but can easily be managed with care. It can have many causes, and is classified according to the location of the inflammation.
Anterior blepharitis is inflammation of the part of the eyelid nearest to the lashes and outer edge of the lid margin, and the most common type of posterior blepharitis (in the part of the eyelid closest to the eye) is Meibomian Gland Dysfunction or MGD.A regular regime of eyelid care and eyelid hygiene is essential.

The prescribing and dispensing of spectacles are very closely linked and it would be in your best interests to have your spectacles dispensed where you had your eyes examined. It is more difficult to resolve problems you may have with your spectacles when prescribing and supply are separated.
The College of Optometrists, which is the professional, scientific and examining body for optometry in the UK working for the public benefit, has issued this advice regarding your spectacle prescription. If you have any diffilculty with your spectacles, please return to the practice where they have been dispensed to check they have been made correctly as the responsibility for handling 'non-tolerance' issues lies with the supplier.

I chose O'Brien's Opticians as they are a local firm that has good reviews. They have different examinations carried out which has indicated vision issues that we not previously detected by my other previous opticians. I liked the fact that I could get the same make of frame that I've had before as they fit well.
Call us to book one of our limited FREE Dispensing Consultations with our Dispensing Opticians. We will spend the time on a one to one basis with you, to help you choose the right frame and lenses in a comfortable, no hassle environment. There will be no obligation to purchase from us. We will offer professional advice on frame materials, size, shape, colour, fit and the various ophthalmic lens options to you.

Prepare to take out a second mortgage!
£50 for eye test (£20 - £25 anywhere else). Advised that lenses would cost £750 and frames FROM £200. Completely crazy. How can one pair of glasses cost so much???? I only went because I like to support local independent businesses but I will definitely NOT be back. Prescription was illegible and no reply to emails asking to clarify what the scribbles meant. Had to go in person for a translation that I could take elsewhere.
