Services
Our head office is located in Bridport, Dorset. We also have offices in Beaminster, Chard, Crewkerne, Ilminster, Lyme Regis, Axminster, Sidmouth, Sherborne, Wincanton and Yeovil. Members of our experienced and dedicated staff are available during working hours to answer questions, as well as to support and assist our families through a sad and often overwhelming process.
J.F. Clarke & Son has been established in Axminster since 1880. Roy Searle joined as an apprentice in 1972 and later became proprietor. Simon remains as Funeral Director at the business with the ongoing support of his wife Carole. With over 35 years of experience, Simon is a pillar of the community, continuing the family tradition of funeral directing, offering support to local families in the wider Axminster area.
For almost half a century A.J.Wakely & Sons have been serving the local community of Beaminster. In 1974 we converted a workshop to create our office. Since then we have been an integral part of the village working closely with residents, local churches and charities. Our office is managed by Simon Wakely who was born and raised in Beaminster.
Ernie Wakely opened their funeral directors in Broadwindsor. Jack followed in the footsteps of his uncles and in 1970 opened his first office in Bridport. Jack remained in the trade whilst also continuing a career as Publican and Builder in Beaminster.

Today Bridport is managed by Simon Wakely (Jack's grandson), supported by Clive Wakely and their experienced and dedicated team; Tim Nickels and Chris Legg as funeral directors along with Angela and Amanda who manage the day-to-day running of the office. In 1995 Simon joined his father, David Wakely, and grandfather, Jack Wakely at the funeral directors in Bridport, where he learned the profession.
In 1986 A.J.Wakely & Sons opened an office in Chard. Over the past three decades we have built a long-standing association with the community by helping bereaved families and working with local churches and groups. At the end of 2018, the office was refurbished to create a comfortable and relaxed environment for families to visit.

Report
I cannot praise AJWakely/Northcott Brothers highly enough for the funeral service provided when our dear mother died recently. From the first contact with them to the last they were superb. Nothing was too much trouble, Debbie at 'front of house' and Andrea the funeral director were attentive, compassionate and utterly professional. We felt as if we were the only people they were working with. On the day of mum's funeral Andrea's authoritative, confident and thoughtful manner meant it was truly exactly how we had envisioned it. A truly first class team. Thanks for everything.
