Funerals today are enormously varied and pre-paid Funeral plans are popular. Woodland Burials and eco-friendly Funerals are increasingly favoured. We also welcome unusual requests and will do everything possible to create a bespoke Funeral tailored to your wishes. With this website we hope to provide impartial guidance and useful information for anyone making Funeral arrangements in the UK as well as for people in our local community.
Our family believes you should expect value for money and the highest standard of care and service from the moment contact is made. Services
First contact the Doctor who may call to establish that death has taken place. The Doctor will advise you when the death certificate will be ready and from where it can be collected. Details, such as whether the funeral is to be a burial or cremation, can be discussed at this point or you can advise us later.
Funerals tend to be a taboo subject which the public do not generally discuss. Very often a simple question to an experienced Funeral Director will save a lot of worry and apprehension. If you have never had to organise a funeral before it can be quite a daunting task. It is important that you know there is help available to make the occasion run as smoothly as possible.
The contemporary traditional funeral can be simple or elaborate, but is always elegant and dignified. We have Jaguar or Ford limousines and hearses. Some families choose not to use limousines and are happy to make their own way to the place of burial or cremation. But we do advise that the chief mourners do not drive on the day.
All funeral directors are legally required to publish this Price List for a standardised set of products and services. This is to help you think through your options and make choices, and to let you compare prices between different funeral directors (because prices can vary). This is a funeral where family and friends have a ceremony, event or service for the deceased person at the same time as they attend their burial or cremation.
A funeral plan created for you by your local independent funeral director M. Sillifant and Sons. Nearly a million people in Great Britain have taken out a funeral plan. Usually, they have known the grief of bereavement and don't want their families to go through the stress of making arrangements. Many have established a relationship of trust with their local family funeral director.

Martin Sillifant and his family helped us through an extremely difficult time with the untimely death of a younger sister.
Martin gave us excellent advice from the outset and continued to play a major and extremely helpful part throughout the entire period from initial bereavement through to burial and Memorial Service offering expert advice, liaison between a wide number of people and always conducting matters on our behalf with great tact and diplomacy.
Martin and his family also used their expert local knowledge to organise a social gathering of mourners after the service.
