Services
Pearsons & Ward has offices in Malton and offer a wide range of legal services to individuals and businesses throughout Yorkshire and beyond. We focus on what is important to you: your family, your job, your home, your business, your peace of mind, your financial security, the essential areas of life.
At Pearsons & Ward, our private client solicitors can assist you with a full range of services related to preparing a Will and making arrangements for later life. We understand that many people worry about putting plans in place for after they are gone, but our lawyers are friendly, approachable and will handle all matters sensitively and at your own pace.
Making a Will allows you to safeguard the interest of your family for the future. Doing so ensures that your wishes will be respected when it comes to deciding who will inherit your money, property and other possessions. However, making a Will also offers a host of other benefits. Whatever stage of your life you're at, the private client solicitors at Pearsons & Ward can support you to put your affairs in order.
Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) replaced EPAs from then onwards. There are some differences between EPAs and LPAs, the main one being that EPAs only allow your attorney to make decisions about issues relating to your Property and Financial Affairs, whereas there are 2 types of LPA, one which covers Property and Financial Affairs and a separate one which covers "Health and Welfare" issues.
Our solicitors can work to protect your assets for future generations and reduce your tax liability on death. We can offer a breadth of solutions, including advice on setting up and administering trusts. We are members of the Law Society's Probate Section and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
