Over ninety years ago Smith's was just a small nursery on a big piece of land, built with the hope to fulfil a passion for growing plants and to create a community. The very heart of this community started in 1931 with Bertram Thomas Smith, Grandfather to Norman Smith, before it was handed down and transformed into the successful garden centre it is now.

Bertram Thomas Smith started growing at Smith's in the year 1931, growing and potting bedding and plants for decades. Post the year 2000 Smith's has undergone a magnificent transition into a family-run garden center that really does have it all. The Smith's Giftshop is quite extraordinary, unlike most Garden Centres we are home to an extensive range of everyday and seasonal gifts. With such a vast range of premium gifts and products browse at your leisure.
Our Giftshop includes sections such as indoor furniture and furnishings, artificial flowers and arrangements, vases and ornaments, candles and lanterns, mirrors and artwork just to name a small selection of what you will see if you decide to come and visit us!

We take the safety of our staff and customers seriously and as such we have amended our delivery terms while social distancing measures need to be in place. We operate this service within an approximate radius of 12 miles. Delivery charges vary by postcode and will be calculated upon checking out your online order.

Well I decided to book the grotto here, not imagining just how amazing it would be. We all thought it was absolutely fantastic. My daughter had recently been very ill and been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and she really deserved a treat. This grotto along with the organisation and lovely staff really made our Christmas. THE whole garden centre is so beautifully presented.

Santa's grotto is wonderful, Santa and the elves really made the experience one to remember for our boys. Even with social distancing it was still a magical experience for them.
The garden centre is full of twinkling lights and decorations, there is a lot to see and explore for little ones (and adults).
All staff were very friendly and polite, they served delicious cake in the café too!

This place is dangerous for anyone with garden related impulse control issues. It's beautifully laid out, lovely plants and huge variety. Great home and garden extras and unfortunately for me a well stocked house plant section.
I went in for sphagnum moss and almost went home with a menagerie but managed to limit it to 5 plants, some cards, some moss, some swivel rings for hanging planters, a decorative plant pot, some plant food and some stuff I can't even remember but was essential at the time.
You have been warned!
