Denton House
Denton House is a wonderful family run B&B guest house in the picturesque village of Hesket Newmarket, close to Caldbeck, in the Northern Fells of the Lake District National Park. The bed and breakfast has been managed by Susan and Alan Armstrong for over 10 years and has a reputation for spacious comfortable guest rooms and superb breakfasts, using only the finest local produce.

We're located just a couple of doors down from the famous Old Crown pub, the first cooperatively owned pub in the UK. After a hard days walking on the Caldbeck Fells, what better way to finish the day than with a swift pint or three of well kept real ale, produced by the Hesket Newmarket Brewery followed by a tasty home cooked bar meal, knowing that you've got a good night's sleep in store at Denton House!
Services
We have 7 comfortable bed and breakfast guest rooms (most en-suite) which can be let as double, single, twin or family rooms on a bed and breakfast (B&B) basis. All of our B&B rooms are spacious and most have views of the village and up to the Caldbeck Fells or over surrounding countryside. Some rooms have garden views and views up to the Caldbeck Fells, some overlook the village green.
Once you have booked your holiday, our agreement with you is a legal contract. If you cannot go on holiday and the room cannot be re-let, you are liable to pay for the booking in full, even if you cancel before paying the balance. If we succeed in re-letting the room for that same period, we will deduct from you what you owe us (or refund to you) any such rentals received less your deposit, which is always non-refundable.
Denton House is situated in the village of Hesket Newmarket - a traditional fell village situated in the Northern Fells of the English Lake District. We're perfectly located for an enjoyable and relaxing stay in the Lake District National Park and there are some superb walks to be had in the area. All of the hills at the back of Skiddaw and Blencathra are within easy reach and there are many more gentle walks to be had around the local area.

Lovely rooms next door to a great community pub with good grub. Couldn't have a better host who even thought to book us a table at the pup.

Denton House in Hesket Newmarket is a lovely, peaceful and remarkably inexpensive place to stay in the northern Lake District.
The Old Crown pub, the first to be owned by the community, is just two doors along. The Old Crown offers simply delicious home made food and a great selection of their own beers brewed on site, which is the main reason I chose to stay at Denton House, after passing through the village last summer.
Hesket Newmarket is only 25 minutes from Carlisle to the north and within 45 minutes to Birdoswald Roman fort and Hadrian's Wall. About 25 minutes to the walks of Skiddaw and
