I attended my friend's wedding reception here recently. Oh my gosh, if I could give it no stars I would!
My friend ( the bride) had gone to set up the room the day before and it took twelve people eleven hours to clean before they could dress the room.
There was sick on the carpet, it was also sticky from previous guests. They ended up hiring an industrial carpet cleaner. There was full open rubbish bags left outside. The food was disgusting to the point that no one ate the main course, the staff were rude and very slow. Some of the rooms had not been cleaned and serviced even though the hotel

Beautiful building and was a really nice alternative to staying at a cheap chain hotel! Breakfast was really good and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Bedroom clean and had all the essentials. Would definitely stay there again.

We booked a table for 5 for Christmas lunch today and it was, well, lacklustre. The starter was okay - although mine was basically a fancy prawn cocktail it contained about 3 prawns. The others were better. Mains were very, very disappointing. Three tiny roast potatoes, one piece of cauliflower and broccoli, carrot and parsnip with some turkey. Desserts were equally disappointing. It’s not too much to expect a few traditional trimmings - stuffing, Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets with a Christmas lunch. No matter how grandeur an establishment - these things are quintessentially British and

Recently visited for a wedding and had a generally good experience. The staff were friendly and polite, and the venue was pleasant and in a picturesque location. Access is easy with plenty of parking. The building itself is a little dated and tired in places, especially the toilet facilities. The bar was reasonably priced although sometimes a bit of a wait for staff to appear from doing other jobs (why not keep a dedicated barman on?). Food was generally good for the number catered for. All in all a good but not quite excellent experience.

We had our wedding here last weekend, and I still cannot believe how perfect the day was. We worked with so many talented people, but a huge thank you to all the staff at Brownsover Hall Hotel. Ahmed, Sarabpal and Andrei in particular, you have gone above and beyond to help us through this whole process. You worked tirelessly on the day, and were so attentive to our guests. The food was incredible, the slow cooked ox cheek in particular has got rave reviews from our guests. Big thank you to the chef and his staff! Another shout out to the younger staff members too, they worked so hard on the day

I had my wedding day here YESTERDAY. It was 5* from start to finish. Constantly working above and beyond for all our guests! They worked with us closely on everything and it turned out to be the best and most perfect wedding day ever.
We used the marquee for the wedding ceremony and inside the building for wedding breakfast onwards! They decorated throughout, food was INSANE, staff are friendly and like family to us now. They worked their socks off.
They will make your day a dream!!! Xx

I was here at the weekend for our friends wedding and the venue was absolutely fantastic! Everything about the day was great. The staff were brilliant, very attentive and friendly and the food was amazing (especially the profiteroles). We went back the next morning for breakfast and we were also really pleased. Would recommend this hotel to anyone for their wedding or stay.

I'd give it 3.5 stars.
I so want to give it 4 stars.
Went there yesterday for the murder mystery event which was fun and the actors where great.
Food for the evening was good too.
Staff was fine... Little fine tuning and could be better but they done their best.
Only bit I was disappointed in was
1. The bar was closed at certain points throughout the 3 course meal
2. No offer to refill the jug of water for the table.
3. £20 quid for a bottle that probably cost them £3
4. The Breakfast was slightly disappointing due to the cooked Breakfast being warm (I mean Luke warm).
Room was comfy

A mixed bag... Room was good, but cheap appliances (fan and kettle) and extremely dated bathroom detracted from the stay. No online ability to view menu to judge whether we'd choose to eat there or stay there over another hotel; when asked (a day or two before our stay) we were sent what turned out to be an outdated menu. Pork belly was amazing, but accompanying vegetables were very undercooked. Very nice grounds.

Our daughters wedding was held here. Despite the restrictions, Brownsover pulled out all the stops to make this a wonderful and memorable event. The food was wonderful, and plentiful. All the guests commented on how good it was. As the day was so hot, most of the time was spent outside and there was plenty of seating and even a bouncy castle for the kids.
