Examples of clinically urgent testing include: Bloods that are required to facilitate a two week wait (cancer) referral Bloods that are extremely overdue and/or essential for safe prescribing of medication or monitoring of condition Bloods that if taken could avoid a hospital admission or prevent an onward referral Those with suspected sepsis or conditions with a risk of death or disability.

We appreciate that this temporary position is frustrating for patients and services alike - this means that if you have a blood test booked we may need to cancel it. We are looking at this now and we will text you if this applies to you. Since mid-July we have been offering the choice of telephone, video or face-to-face consultations.
Services
We are now offering a limited number of pre-bookable additional appointments on some Saturdays between 08:00 and 10:30 - they will not be available every Saturday - please ask at reception for further details of clinics. These are aimed primarily at those people who have genuine difficulty in getting to the surgery during normal hours.
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient. You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months.
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

I have been with the surgery for pretty much my whole life, from the days when they were on the main Red Lion St, over the road. I have always been genuinely pleased with the service, staff, professionalism, the works really. But, especially since I have been treated for my leg ulcer the last few years. All of the staff have been wonderful. Polite, friendly, courteous, considerate and caring. I just feel so at home, especially since I have been going for dressing changes 3 times a week! Mainly dealing with the nursing staff, but, occasionally doctors too! Highly recommend the surgery. 😊🙏

Just moved to Chesham and changed to Water Meadow. 1st appointment was fabulous ! Efficient change-over / Welcoming and super-friendly reception staff and Dr Neal was simply superb. It's almost worth the house move just to experience how a great surgery should be !! Thank you !!

This is the best surgery I have belonged to . The receptionist are always helpful. And Dr Murray is very thorough and kind. If I have had to see a different Doctor ( very rarely ) I find them equally diligent. I am so glad I belong to such a kind efficient surgery.

I have had many GP's in my life but none as friendly and down to earth as the doctors at this practice. They always put you at ease and explain everything in black and white and never speak down to you as I have had expience in the past. The receptionists are extremely pleasant and the doctors are exceptional.

We changed our doctors from another local one. Since moving to Water Meadow we have had nothing but excellent service. Main thing is the reception staff are polite and friendly, unlike our other doctors.
