St Catherine's Pre-school occupies a purpose built wooden cabin, with an enclosed garden and forest school area. Children benefit from a friendly atmosphere, well-planned environment, 'Real Stuff' curriculum and hands-on activities. Staff focus on developing experiences to meet the needs of your child and that respond to their interests.
The Pre-school is a non-profit making organisation with charitable status and its own constitution which is managed by an elected Committee, mostly made up of parents of children attending the group. The Committee is responsible for managing the Pre-school including employing the staff, arranging insurance, finance, fundraising etc.

If you know of a local firm or business who might be interested in providing funding or a donation, please let us know. In return, we always publicly thank businesses and organisations by including a mention in our newsletter, on our website and Facebook page and, if requested, a photo in the Bridport News.
Emma is our Forest School Leader, Joint Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) and jointly responsible for behaviour. She is our Designated Safeguarding Lead and person responsible for e-safety. Beth is the Equality Lead and is the Joint Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENCo) and is jointly responsible for behaviour.
The Management Committee is a legal requirement for the Pre-school as it is a registered charity. The elected committee are the trustees of the setting, the people who have overall responsibility for ensuring the group runs successfully in accordance with its aims. The committee is responsible for the management of the pre-school, although Emma Burt is the Pre-school Leader and oversees day to day activities.
The day is split into sessions as set out below, together with fees (fees are subject to change). The Pre-school is closed for school holidays and Bank Holidays but tries to stay open on 'snow days'. GOVERNMENT FUNDING: The Pre-school is registered to receive Government funding which covers 38 weeks per year.
The Pre-school actively supports parents and children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. We believe in addressing concerns and providing support as early as possible rather than a 'wait and see' approach. This provides children with the best possible start and is more effective than implementing support later on.
