Masala City is an Indian restaurant (curry house) in Chichester. We are proud to be a part of our community as well as in the heart of Chichester's multicultural destinations. With hard work, imagination and consistently high standards, Masala City has since developed into one of the best loved Indian Restaurants in Chichester West Sussex.
You may already be a local to Chichester and of heard about our legendary Indian food or be passing through for a visit to "The Chichester Festival Theatre". Whatever the reason for your visit you'll be welcomed with a smile and possibly the best Indian food in Chichester or indeed West Sussex. All of our delicious indian food is cooked fresh daily and we are able to accomodate most dietry needs (just ask when ordering).
Our Bangladeshi and Indian chefs have many years of experience cooking the finest Indian Food. Murad one of the chefs has even published his own Indian Cook Book. If you're visiting Chichester then you may find several curry houses offering the 'Sag Roll' Indian dish, this is in fact a unique recipe developed by the owner of Masala City.
The restaurant is open for bookings from 12pm to 2pm and 5.30pm to 11.30pm 7 days a week. Online bookings can be made for up to 24 hours ahead of your visit, and bookings within 24 hours can be made by telephone. Please take note that we cannot serve you if you have any allergy requirements unless you contact us at least 48 hours before and subject to confirmation from us.

The food was great, but do not get delivery.
After three calls, each time saying 'only ten to fifteen minutes', the food eventually arrived two hours after ordering, despite the email saying it would only be an hour from when I ordered.
If you've not made the food, don't lie, just say you haven't and give a real estimate.

The food is 5 star here, try the owners 'grandma special' with chicken (rather than lamb) one of the best curries i've ever had. If you're in doubt about any of the dishes, consult the owner, he has in depth knowledge and doesn't try to over-sell, he told us not to over order rice or daal, as an example. We will definitely return here.

So to start with we went here because there was good reviews I think 4.9 so for the good stuff first. The waiter who looked after us was Tony. I really couldn't fault him his attention to detail was very good, he was friendly and not to intrusive while we were eating. He gave us a commentary drink after our meal and was very knolegable about the menu. Now the not so good. They brought out our rice and nann bread and then the main meals one of which was wrong they dint take the rice away and replace it with fresh when they finally sorted the main meal out. Awful service. Was told delivery would take an hour, waited 1hour and 30mins. Called the restaurant and was told it would be another 30 minutes. When trying to explain I wanted a refund because I didn’t want to wait any more, they seemed to struggle to understand! Why take more orders, if you can not fulfil them? I will not be ordering again!

£4.75 for a bowl containing a handful of cooked plain rice!, disgusting.
£6.50 fora pint of draft lager. Might have even been £6.75 but I threw the bill away in disgust.
And their web site prices are completely misleading as they are about 40% lower than what you actually get charged when you visit. A complete con.
However the pappadoms and dips… were enjoyable.
The chicken dhansak also very nice.
Butter chicken was vile, looked like a piece of tandoori chicken with a white gloopy sweet bechamel sauce poured over it, Completely inedible.
Service was also poor and inattentive
