Located at the heart of the rural village of Chidham near Chichester, The Old House at Home is perfectly situated close to the historical city of Chichester and within easy reach of Chichester Harbour. Dating back to the 18th Century, the beautiful brick building with traditional wooden beams and open fireplaces also boasts a serene garden area that provides a relaxing setting to enjoy in fine weather.
We are lucky to be located in a stunning part of West Sussex on a peninsular that leads down to Chichester Harbour and its bustling maritime activity. With a plethora of sailing clubs and Cobnor Activity Centre nearby, there is plenty to do on the water.
As well as the waterside activities, we are also surrounded by rolling fields that offer a network of public footpaths for walkers to explore before calling in for a refreshing pint or Sunday lunch.Throughout the year we host various events for our guests to enjoy and in the summer months we enjoy open air film showings in the field adjacent to us which are organised by The Chidham and Hambrook Film Society.

Located near the south coast and surrounded by Sussex countryside there is plenty of access to local fresh fish and produce, which we take full advantage of. The list includes outdoor reared pork, Hampshire beef, fish from local coastline and luxury diary ice cream from an accredited Jersey herd. All of these and more are used to create the delicious freshly prepared traditional dishes that are on our menu.
In addition to the standard menu daily Specials are also available. Large crevettes, potted crab, marinated white anchovies, smoked salmon with fresh garlic and lemon mayonnaise and ciabatta. Chef's handmade pie of the day served with either baby potatoes and seasonal vegetables or chips and garden peas.

The perfect stop for late lunch while on a walk alongside wheat fields with that amazing golden glow...the staff here were very friendly and welcoming. The meal was wonderful and have to say the ice-cream at the end was just what the doctor ordered on a hot day....thank you all at The Old House at Home....when I'm next in the area I will be popping in again...
