Luna Press Publishing
Website
Luna Press Publishing is an award-winning independent UK press, founded in 2015 by author Francesca T. Barbini. We deal with Speculative Fiction, Science Fiction, Fantasy and Dark Fantasy, in both fiction and academia. We are also a proud member of Publishing Scotland. We work with agents, published authors and new writers.

We take pride in our family - the Luna family - and we work hard to promote and support it. We are very keen to create writing opportunities and to promote inclusiveness in the publishing industry. We work with worthy partners to give back to the community. Some of our books are affiliated to charities, so when you buy a book in our store you are also giving to charity.

A great way to support the Luna authors and artists is to nominate their work for an award. There are many awards available in Britain.

As a British publisher involved in speculative fiction and non-fiction, we obviously focus on the ones relevant to us, and they are many: from The Kitschies to the British Fantasy Society Awards to the British Science Fiction Awards, the Hugo Awards, the Tolkien Awards, the Stoker Awards, the Caine Prize, the Jhalak Award, the Nommo Awards, to name but a few.
Academia Lunare is the Luna Press Publishing academic branch for speculative and general non-fiction. One of the most exciting aspects of fandom is the critical assessment of speculative literature, as a way to show one's love for a particular author or body of work. Speculative non-fiction is also a mirror for society, with an eye cast into the future.
We publish Speculative Fiction, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Dark Fantasy (and their sub-genres). For our purposes, speculative fiction deals with elements that are nonexistent in reality, covering various themes in the context of science fiction, fantasy, horror, alternate history, utopian and dystopian fiction, and supernatural fiction, as well as combinations thereof e.g.
We have worked with the charity Sense Scotland, to deliver an 'out of this world' event during the Festival of Fun 2019! Sci-fi was the theme of Sense Scotland's annual, accessible Festival of Fun event in Fife and Luna organised a flash-fiction contest for the local pupils. We are always open to the charity Arkbound Foundation, whose aim is to widen access to literature and improve diversity within the publishing industry.
The Luna Family celebrated its first birthday at Hanam's Kurdish Restaurant, in Edinburgh. What a magnificent evening we had. I cannot imagine spending Luna's first birthday in any other way, except surrounded by wonderful and talented people. In fact, we were all so busy talking (and eating and drinking) that no one took a picture of the dinner!
