Very friendly and welcoming place. I didn't stay at the hotel but have popped in for drinks with family and friends. Beer garden is a lovely little sun trap!

Dreary interior. The barman was more interested in talking on his phone than serving.

More like a hostel than a hotel. Very dated and in seriouse need of updating.
I can't comment on food as did not want to eat there, but the menu reminded me of school meals.
Poor nights sleep as there were homeless people being accommodated there who were shouting at each other at 2.30 am and noise from the bar made it difficult to sleep the rest of the time.
No shampoo or shower gel provided only a bar of soap.
The owner, I pressume, was friendly but seems to be unaware of how badly the premises is in need of attention.
Would not stay there again and checked out early because of this.

Brilliant hotel, the staff are worth more than the 5 stars so I'll give them 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, the homemade food is also really tasty and the owner and his family and staff make everyone feel at home and at ease, if you need anything ask the owner Stan or his daughter Susan but any of the staff will do everything they can to make your stay is an enjoyable one, well done Stan, Susan and family you and your staff made our stay really really enjoyable, absolutely brilliant.👍

Stayed at the stag hotel while covering a wedding hire. Stan and the staff were fantastic. The room was bright, clean and warm. The food was excellent i would recommend the steak pie the pastry was perfect with plenty of meat chunks and gravy. Breakfast was also excellent. I have enjoyed my stay at the hotel and i will be back.
