This is an amazing shop. The woman who runs it is so helpful and pleasant.
She let me use her phone as my battery had gone, also, my daughter wasn't with me, and I wasn't 100% sure about the size that'd fit her for a pair of ballet shoes, and she charged me for a pair and let me take two sizes, and just said to pop the pair that didn't fit back in at a later date.

Lovely little shop with excellent service. Cute little dance shop that caters for the dance schools in the local area. Very helpful staff. Bought my niece her first ballet outfit from here, which she is v. happy with. Annoyingly the dance schools in the local area require a specific uniform - even for 4 year olds. This shop seems to sell them all.

I think DUO DANCE is the unique store with the BEST brands of dance shoes. Excellent for the stage and the dancefloor, comfortable and beautiful. Great choice, great prices. It's the only place in London where you can try on and compare the major brands - Supadance, Ray Rose, International and Freed. I have mine, they are warriors!! 1 year old, i dance everyday and they are like new!!

I love this store. I was visiting London from New York, and I wanted a new pair of Supadance shoes like the ones I have loved for years. Sue showed me a variety of other options as well. I ended up buying a pair of practice shoes I like even more than my current pair, plus she's shipping a dressier shoe to me. The prices were very good — definitely lower than in the US, even with shipping. I will definitely order from Duo Dance in the future.

It is indeed a misfortune that this shop is so well stocked in theory, as for one, on the two occasions I have shopped with them they have been out of the model/size required. Secondly, as mentioned above, there is a particularly snotty and rude gent who definitely should not be taking calls. For some reason, he refused to acknowledge that a size 5 1/2 is indeed the same as a 5.5. I assume it was the same boor who was being again willfully awkward when I rung to ask if he knew of any shipment due the next day. Dancewear is inherently expensive. Leotards, tights, tutus, all cost a pretty penny. Duo Dance, however, isn't too costly. A good pair of jazz shoes will cost £30. They carry great quality dance shoes, like the brand Supadance, so you're guaranteed quality. What is fantastic about this shop is that you can get any kind of quality dance gear you need in one place. It also sells wares to satisfy the needs of beginners to advanced dancers. Duo Dance stocks all kinds of dance shoes, leotards, tights and dancewear. Almost everything you could be looking for.
Should you decide to pick up a pair of jazz shoes or dance tights on a weekday at 4pm, then you are likely to be met with a hoard of Dulwich mothers doing likewise.
As it does get ridiculously busy and during these times actually getting served is rather an unrealistic luxury. It is much better to leave and come back at a quieter time than to spend many frustrating hours waiting.
The staff here can be rather snotty with the mentality that Duo Dance is the centre of the universe
