Bicycle Ambulance came together when two like-minded enthusiasts, Ric and Andy, decided they wanted a bicycle business that was better than the rest. We wanted to focus on what we love and what is essential to us - repairing not just replacing components and keeping people out of cars and on their bikes.
This gave birth to the Bicycle Ambulance, an actual converted ambulance turned mobile workshop. So sirens and all, we started regularly visiting peoples place of work, so they could have the convenience of not finding time to make it to the bike shop. In 2007 we opened our shop in Cambridge, along side the ambulance.

With all the possibilities of component combination we keep in stock, we can build a custom wheel set to suite your needs. If you want to combine old with new or re-build a tired wheel, our expert builders can help you choose the right pieces of equipment for the job.
We specialize in anything cycle related. Any type of overhaul or rebuild can be accomplished, from Cannondale HEADSHOK's to Cargo bikes and not just the standard fitting of components. Along with the customizing of dream bicycle builds with shiny new parts, we also engineer where needed and actually problem solve.
The Ambulance is where it all began and is something we have prided ourselves on. The idea came out of a need to have a rolling workshop, visiting companies and sites and servicing bikes to help workers get to work on time on a nice smooth working bicycle. We offer the service of spending the day on your site, servicing and fixing employees bikes.

Brilliant service and really friendly staff. My old crankset on my bike needed replacing but I stupidly stripped the threads on it so I couldn't get it off. I took it these guys and they sorted it all out for me, put on my new crankset and fixed a few other issues too, all for a very good price. Today was my first time using Bicycle Ambulance and it will not be my last. If you need something sorted on your bike go to these guys they're top class!!! Thanks Bicycle Ambulance.

My bike needed a new front brake. I initially took it to Halfords where they did a 10m 'free' MOT & basically told me the bike was falling apart. The cost of repair wd be same as a new bike...wd I like to buy one? NO! Next day I took it to this Company. Very helpful...told me as I use it very little other problems wd be fine for couple of years...fixed brake for £14....result: very happy customer. Honesty & Integrity PAYS. I would thoroughly recommend Bike Ambulance for their expertise & honesty.

I have been taking my bikes to Bicycle Ambulance for the last year since i moved to the area and every time the quality of the work and service have been unbeatable. No problem is too difficult to fix (and I've thrown some proper headscratchers at them!) They take pride in the quality of the work they do and that work is charged at very fair rates. Sam, Rick and Andy could not be nicer guys and I can't recommend them enough.

Andy at Bicycle Ambulance did a great job fixing my bike's rear axle. I thought the rear wheel was bent (it was brushing against the frames and impossible to pedal) and it would cost quite a lot to replace it. After checking and identifying that only the axle (quick-release) was the problem, he replaced it with a thru-axle as per my request. Returned my bike promptly on promised time. My bike is running without problems since then. Will recommend them to anyone for bike repairs.
