Services
We recommend that you have an eye examination at least every two years in order that the health of your eyes and your quality of vision can be effectively monitored. Yearly sight tests are recommended for those under 16 as young eyes change rapidly, and also for those over 70, diabetic patients and people with glaucoma.
If you currently live in a residential care home or are registered housebound, we can provide a domiciliary service for you. We like to ensure that patients who cannot make it to the practice still receive first rate eyecare service. Please be mindful, however, that you receive a more comprehensive eye examination at the practice.
Ever conscious of changing fashions but appreciative of classic styles, we offer a broad range of spectacle frames for people of all ages. Our frame collections include popular names Oakley and Bolle as well as designer frames including Versace, Ralph Lauren, and Calvin Klein. To help you find the perfect frame, our dispensing optician can guide and advise you on all aspects of spectacle frames.
For many children part of growing up means getting their first pair of glasses. To accommodate children of all ages from toddlers right through to adolescents we have many different frame sizes and designs. For children who put their glasses to the test we have frames with sprung sides and a more flexible bridge both of which enhance durability and comfort.
When faced with a change in prescription you may not bear the thought of parting with your favourite specs frame. If this is the case, we do offer a reglaze service whereby we put new lenses into your existing frame. Although a reglaze means you can keep your favourite frame, the process of fitting new lenses can cause the frame to weaken and be more susceptible to breakages.

My recent visit to N. lloyd- thomas and son was excellent. I suffer with a lot of glare. All the staff were excellent esp, Aled. It was recommended that i try transitions extra active, this i have done in graphite green, i cannot recommend them enough, fantastic product. Also i had a dedicated computer and reading pair of glasses, these are excellent too, much more wider view than with just all round varifocals. Try these if you think they would help, because i can honestly say they are helping me greatly. You would give Aled and staff 6/5 if you could. A superb opticians.

Before being recommend to this opticians, I suffered with regular pain with my eyes, severe dry eyes and sensitivity to light. My previous opticians and even eye clinic only recommended wearing sunglasses and eye drops. The team discussed my issued at length to understand what my issues were. Following conversations, a thorough eye test (again, taking a lot of time to discuss and advise), they advised particular lenses they believed would help. They order a set of lenses without the prescription element for me to try which had a specific tint. The difference was huge - the eye discomfort had gone
