I can help you to live a healthy, happy life. My name is Lorraine Groves and I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist who is passionate about helping people lead healthy, happy lives. I offer Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy and utilise a range of techniques including different therapy styles (CBT, ACT, EMDR) which can be combined with the additive benefits of hypnosis to help you change your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Hypnosis creates a focused and absorbed state that facilitates access to processes below the conscious threshold; it can increase the salience of suggestions delivered by the therapist which in turn can increase your capacity to acquire new skills. Hypnotherapy is the combination of hypnosis with therapy.

I have been practising as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist since 2016. I am passionate about what I do and really look forward to meeting you to discuss how I can help you lead a healthy, happy life. My original career was not in therapy however and I arrived at it somewhat later in life.
What is hypnosis? Hypnosis produces a natural state of selective, focused attention resulting in reduced peripheral awareness, a heightened state of awareness and increased suggestibility, and is often called a hypnotic trance. This day-dreaming or auto-pilot state is one we all go in to naturally on a daily basis.
I have received some lovely thank you emails, hand written notes and messages from clients and I thought it would be nice to share some of these with you. Miss H came to see me to reduce her weight, but after the initial consultation it was clear there was a larger goal. Following a serious head injury Mrs G was looking to support her recovery process and to deal with a fear of flying.
Prior to commencing any therapy sessions, an initial consultation is required (apart from specialist Stop Smoking sessions, where this is included within the session time). Initial consultations are carried out at one of the venues listed, or can be carried out over the phone or via SKYPE, if preferred.
I offer a free initial telephone consultation with no obligation. This will usually last 15-20 minutes. It is best to use my Enquiry form, or email me to request a call back. Please advise your preferred date and time for a call, and this will try to be accommodated.
