To instil in the children a curiosity and understanding of events, places and people in a variety of times and environments. To develop a knowledge of chronology within which the children can organise their understanding of the past. To develop an interest in the past and an appreciation of human achievements and aspirations.

To learn about the major issues and events in the history of our own country and of the world and how these events may have influenced one another. To understand how the past was different from the present and that people of other times and places may have had different values and attitudes from ours.

This was evident in lessons observed during the inspection and in discussions with pupils.' St John's Catholic Primary School was been judged as 'Good'. We are all very proud of our school, the staff and the pupils who are rightly recognised in the report. They use a range of strategies, including their knowledge of phonics, to ensure that they read accurately and with clear understanding.'
Michele Tayler is the Chair of Governors and is married with one son. She lived in the Bath area for some time before moving into the city and now worships at a local Catholic Church. Michele previously worked as a speech & language therapist and has had experience of working with children and adults in many different settings.
The strategic development of St John's School is the responsibility of its governing body known as the Full Governing Body (FGB). The FGB comprises different sorts of Governors, including members of staff, those appointed by the Bishop of our local Catholic diocese, and those elected by parents/guardians of children at St John's.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to work in a friendly and supportive team.

You will be responsible for supervising the children over the school lunchtime period either inside, setting up the hall for lunch, supervising the children whilst encouraging healthy eating, promoting good manners and respect for each other in a safe and supportive environment, or outside overseeing, engaging with and enhancing the children's play sessions.
St John's Catholic Primary School is a learning community with a Catholic ethos founded on Gospel values. Love God, love one another, understand, value, and respect other faiths, and celebrate the common ground between us, and serve our community faithfully. Find the opportunity to use our unique gifts and talents in the name of God and grow these gifts as part of our own personal development and for the good of others.

St Johns is fantastic. My boys love it there and so did my daughter. The teachers are all amazing and they have the best Headmaster I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Mr Coleman is brilliant. He knows every single one of his students names and the parents.
