Services
At St Keyna we pride ourselves on our nursery, run by a fully qualified teacher ensuring that your children get the best possible start to their school lives. Children between the age of 3 and 4 are entitled to 15 hours of free nursery per week and extra sessions can be paid for at a cost of 5 per hour.
Our extremely well resourced nursery, Little Gems, offers our youngest learners the opportunity to join the St Keyna community. Our modern school site enjoys excellent indoor and outdoor sports facilities including a large playground, a wild area, a spacious field, a stimulating PlayPod and an exciting range of adventurous play equipment.
The rationale of our curriculum is primarily to promote children's learning and development through a broad and balanced, imaginative curriculum. It includes the requirements of the National Curriculum and a whole-school imaginative approach to learning, as well as the additional extra-curricular activities organised to enrich our children's learning experience.
St Keyna Primary School E-Team (Equality Team) consists of representatives from most classes, staff, parents and governors. We work to try to make sure that everyone in school is treated equally and respectfully. Our school is a Stonewall School Champion and was the second primary school in the country to achieve the Stonewall Gold Award.
At St Keyna each of our classrooms has a special gem coloured theme and an exciting name to go with it. During their time at St Keyna our pupils work their way through the colours of the rainbow, starting in Reception with Quartz and finishing in Year 6 with Ruby. Our nursery is known as Little Gems.
