St Cuthbert's Pre-school Playgroup
Children learn best when they're having fun! Founded over 40 years ago, St Cuthbert's Pre-school has helped to prepare over 2000 children to make those all important first steps towards starting school. What began as a small playgroup based in St Cuthbert's Church Hall is now an Ofsted registered Pre-school providing a high standard of nursery education for two - five year olds.

We offer a friendly, safe and happy environment with varied activities planned to a curriculum which is designed to reflect the interests of the children. All children are encouraged to make their own choices to develop independence and confidence within a fun-filled and rich learning environment. Our website is designed to give you an overview of St Cuthbert's Pre-school and provides a lot of information.
Services
St Cuthbert's Pre-school provides high quality care and education for young children between the ages of two and five years and we are open every day during school term time. The Pre-school is for children aged two to five years and, through the broad and balanced curriculum we provide, develops their knowledge and independence and prepares them for starting school.
At St Cuthbert's Pre-school we aim to provide a happy, safe and secure environment to help bring out the very best in your child, both socially and educationally, as children learn best when they are healthy, safe, happy and secure. We aim to ensure that all children's individual needs are met and work in consultation with parents and carers to achieve this.
We ensure a high standard of service is provided consistently. Our children are supervised by a dedicated team of qualified and experienced childcare professionals who have DBS checks. All of our staff demonstrate a real desire to work with and care for young children. Our Early Years Teacher is responsible for delivering a high quality balanced curriculum which will deliver the best possible outcomes for your child.
Parents are regarded as members of our setting who have full participatory rights and we recognise parents as the first and most important educators of their children and so aim to work in partnership with parents in all aspects of their child's care and education.

Children in our care are regularly observed, detailed notes are made regarding their progress, activities are then planned to meet the needs of the individual children thus supporting their development. Our staff aim to work closely with you by regularly discussing and sharing information about your child's needs, activities, interests and development in order for them to reach their full potential.
Oliver has thoroughly enjoyed Pre-school and as a parent I have always felt very welcome, involved and extremely happy leaving him in your very capable hands. Beth has thrived at St Cuthbert's and gained so much from the experiences and opportunities she has been given. I don't think she could have had a better start to her school career.
