We are located in a semi-rural setting, looking out onto open fields in the village of Shireoaks, Nottinghamshire. The building was purpose built with lottery funding offering an all-weather outdoor area, with artificial grass and a soft surface playground. All the staff within the pre-school are qualified in their roles up to Level 5.
Our pre-school is run by parents and we are a registered charity, so any money made goes back into the pre-school. This also enables us to keep our fees as low as possible to be inclusive for all families. We actively support some charities and local events within the village of Shireoaks, such as the Carnival and the local toddler group, 'Tiddlers'.

Services
At Little Acorns we recognise the parents as the first and most important educators of their children. Staff work in partnership with parents providing care and education for the children. Sharing their own special interests with the children for example hobbies and their jobs;. Helping to provide and look after the equipment and materials used in the children's play activities;.
I have worked at Little Acorns since 2013. I love my job as every day is different. The children are a joy to be around, their innocence and knowledge combined makes for interesting conversations and it is never a dull moment in our pre-school. I have been so fortunate to be given the role of Language Lead which I am thoroughly enjoying, working in small groups and sometimes one to one with children who are having some speech therapy sessions.
