Stayed for 3 nights with my fiancee and would thoroughly recommend both this hotel and town to stay. This is a lovely proper hotel, really well run. The rooms and everywhere are spotless with nice traditional furniture. The chef is fantastic and probably the best breakfast we have had anywhere. Everything locally sourced and even the bread is homemade.
Beaulieu Cottage is a delightful Georgian mid-terrace and has a lovely mix or original and modern fittings providing a comfortable holiday home with full central heating. On the ground floor there is a large lounge with electric fire and 32inch flat screen Freeview TV and DVD player. A kitchen/dining area with electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer and washer/dryer.

Fantastic long weekend stay. Super friendly hospitality from Carol Anne and her well stocked gin bar 😀 We ate at the hotel restaurant one evening and WOW ...what an amazing meal cooked by husband chef. I can't describe it as anything other than the best meal I've eaten out in a very long time. Fresh, high quite produce cooked to 5* standard with attention to detail on every course. Excellent service from the waiting on team. Fabulous choice of wines. Breakfast was equally as wonderful. I'd definitely plan a return trip just for the food. Thank you so much for our perfect autumn stay in the beautiful

The staff were wonderful and so helpful. All of the positive results that I had read were true. The hotel is in an excellent location. The breakfasts and dinners were amazing. The only thing was no food being available on Sundays, apart from breakfast. Definitely worth staying there. Jan

Funny sort of hotel tucked away on a busy street. Not too expensive if you want to stay in the loft. No lift so prepare for a workout to get to your room. A little dated in your room but comfortable. We didn’t use the food service but staff were polite enough and did their best to accommodate the 3 of us even tho a mix up was made and we were put into a double room. We shared our double bed with our toddler and made do. Clean bed and towels provided with the standard tea tray. Thankyou

We loved this hotel!
Very friendly welcome, spacious room- the beds were so comfortable that I slept better than I have done for a while!
The only thing that kept me awake was the anticipation of the delicious breakfast! Just perfect before a day in the hills.
