Ross Clinic
Nicholas Handoll sees patients in in Ross-on-Wye. This means that under the terms of the Osteopaths Act 1993 he may no longer use the title 'osteopath' nor claim to be an osteopath. The Osteopaths Act however does not restrict osteopathic techniques or osteopathic care so his patient care built on 45 years' experience has not changed.

Nicholas opened his first Osteopathic Centre in Hereford in 1975 and the Ross-on-Wye Clinic of Osteopathy and Complementary Medicine some eight years later in 1983. In 2017 he sold the Hereford Osteopathic Centre, so sees people now only in Ross-on-Wye.
Services
Caroline Penn, osteopath for more than 40 years and HANDLE Practitioner since 2012 brings a unique range of experience and skill to the Ross Clinic. Caroline set up the Penn Clinic in Hatfield, Hertfordshire in 1979. When I set up in osteopathic practice in 1979 I knew from my own personal experience that what has become known as 'cranial osteopathy' would comprise a major part of what I wanted to do.
URGENT APPOINTMENTS: We try to keep some appointments free each day for urgent cases, but please telephone early as these are soon filled. CANCELLATIONS: If you cannot keep an appointment please let us know at least 24 hours beforehand so that we can offer it to someone who is waiting. A fee may be charged for appointments not kept or cancelled with insufficient notice.
In order to keep fees to a minimum we ask that you settle the fee at the time of treatment. Cash or cheque is equally acceptable. Please note that we do not accept card payments. Many private health insurance companies pay for osteopathic treatment, but policies vary so please check with your insurers first.
Osteopathy is the philosophy of healthcare concerned with that which has compromised health. Osteopathy recognises that a living organism is a system which constantly renews, regenerates, and reforms itself in order to maintain life and health. This is the way a living system maintains its life and its health.
The term Cranial Osteopathy is a misnomer; it is a name we have inherited. It involves the whole body, not just the head. It is a development of the principles of osteopathy first conceived by Dr Still, by one of his first students, WG Sutherland. Sutherland realised that bone is a flexible, plastic material that deforms under load, as steel does in buildings, bridges and ships.

I have suffered with various forms of back pain for many years. A recent painful episode led me to approach this centre. I was able to obtain immediate relief plus help going forward. Highly recommended.

Before my sessions with Nicholas Handoll I’d had pain almost daily for months and had scans which didn’t show up anything. Nicholas seemed to home in on the problem and after a couple of treatments and some excellent advice, things started to turn around. I’d recommend him to anyone and believe that if I hadn’t come here I’d be in the same state still. He has deep knowledge and experience, inspires confidence and also helps you to heal yourself.

I am sad that there are people who have not discovered the benefits of osteopathy; and sadder still that some try to undermine the use of those benefits to the detriment of those of us who depend on them.
As a very active person whose spine was damaged 30 odd years ago, I would have been inactive and in considerable constant pain had I not had osteopaths to run to. There is no doubt at all about that.
Whoever you are who doesn't approve, fair enough; but keep your damaging ideas to yourself.

Brilliant to find someone who actually makes a difference. My two year old son had one arm that didn't move at all when he walked/ran, but after treatment with Nicholas Handoll it moved freely and normally. Everyone else said there was nothing that could be done but Mr Handoll helped and sorted it. It turned out that it was due to getting stuck during birth which lead to an emergency C-section, but as this was so long ago I hadn't thought about it. Thank you so much.
