Dinomites prepares children who are soon to be joining playgroup. Our caring staff encourage social interaction through free, structured and group play, in a calm and safe environment. This involves lots of creative and messy activities, outside play, songs, stories and rhymes to develop communication.
How Carryduff Playgroup in Northern Ireland used wildflowers to develop a holistic, nature-focused foundation for their children's learning. We're celebrating the work of some of the amazing people and organisations across the Grow Wild community and the ways they've adapted to pandemic life.
It has been a challenging time in many ways, for many people, but since they were able to reopen, Carryduff playgroup in Northern Ireland has used the opportunity of needing to spend more time outside as a learning tool and a way to familiarise children with the great outdoors.Deborah explains what they've been up to.

My Daughter has just finished Nursery Pre School year and even in a strange year with COVID restrictions I feel she has progressed so much in Carryduff Nursery. With the large rooms, fantastic outdoor spaces and brilliant educational programmes around nature and outdoors it has so much we didn’t expect. Drawing, Painting, Craft, playing together… or on their own when indoors. My daughter came home with so many certificates for completing tasks like Junior Forester, Fire Training, Food Safe, Wildlife Trust 12 Days Wild, RSPB Schools Birdwatch, WWF Earth Hour, The Daily Mile NI, Charity

My daughter has just finished play group here and I cannot recommend it highly enough! A fantastic group of teachers who put their heart and soul into their work and the outcome is a very happy bunch of kids who don’t want to leave at the end of the day and who are educated far beyond the requirements of preschool. The wraparound daycare is also excellent and has been so useful.

This playgroup is amazing. My daughter absolutely flourished whilst there. Every day she came home with news of the exciting things she did and learnt. There is also a lot of opportunity for children to play creatively and use their imagination - the outside area is the best I have seen anywhere. The staff are so caring and get to know each child with their unique foibles and personalities.
