The Watch House is a harbour side restaurant in St Mawes, on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall. There is a comfortable and cosy ground floor dining area and bar with family friendly booths and a light and open upstairs dining room with sea views out across the harbour to St Anthony's head.

If you fancy a quick bite to eat, our Watch Out take away window serves fresh and local Fish and Chips as well as plenty of options to keep you going throughout the day. Cornwall has some of the best food the UK has to offer. With beautiful fresh fish, meat, and vegetables on our doorstep we're spoilt for choice.

With our beautiful first floor dining room, The Watch House is the perfect place for an intimate wedding reception, birthday celebration or private party. Owner and Head Chef, Will Gould, spent ten years working for a high end events company in London and has extensive experience preparing menus and managing a variety of different event styles.

Fantastic food and exceptional service!! We had the most amazing seafood here - mussels, scallops and prawns for starters were excellent and only surpassed be the hake fillet as a main - an incredible combination of flavors. The service was also second to none, highly recommend!!!

By other reviews it seems the seafood is good, but as mussels were off this limited our choices. Fish and chips were disappointing. Fish was nice enough, but the chips didn’t seem hand cut they were like frozen ones fried a few times and most of them were inedible.

We booked a meal here to end our wonderful holiday in St Mawes and we were definitely not disappointed. A quaint restaurant, welcoming staff and a menu to die for. The freshest of seafood, I chose the seafood… spaghetti and my partner chose the hake ‘special’ cassoulet … both outstanding. We shall definitely be back. Many thanks. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely lunch, staff were very helpful with our main meal, Lunch was lovely but very disappointed after they had removed our plates as no one came back to ask if we wanted a sweet or coffee.
The waiter… we had was folding napkins plus we had to ask him for our bill as we got fed up waiting to see if we were going to get asked if we wanted anything else.
So our experience at ‘The Watch House’ was 50/50
